A February Day
Last year my almond tree was dressed in
a white frock for spring, this year it’s
night-club pink, a tree about town, full
fun ( days of innocence gone.) Last year
the other tree, much older, fell victim to
a chain-saw, all because the farmer’s wife
was cold. Now that rain has stopped my
tree exudes perfumed air, sways slowly as
listening to a trendy tune, it looks lovely
against the pale sky and setting sun
