A Summer Dress
Saw her at Saks looking on to 5th Avenue,
Dressed in a chick, cheap and creamy number,
Been to the hairdresser too and her ebony skin
Gleamed, yes, black really is beautiful.
She was standing there beside a man called
Calvin Klein, a somber man in a yellow suit,
So she didn’t wave as se normally does, but
She did smile with her gazelle eyes.
I too was reluctant to show my affection, for
I had seen, in the window’s reflection a female
Detective with her spy camera, snapping away,
Trying to catch us in the act.
