the orange orchard

The Orange Orchard.
Original title “A Laranjeira”
By IBN Sara
Written ca ( 1123)

As wood burning bright
trees stand fruit partly
hidden coloured dots in
shadow of a green curtains

The fruit hang on a delicate
thread and silently tell of those
who have suffered and suffer
for love

I see an orange orchard as
a place that shows its fruit
as red tears of who have endured
the torments of love

Tears petrified now, yet
with depth of pain
that reaches deep the soil making
it fertile for lovers.

Corneal fruit amongst
foliage that shines as topaz,
in your hand, as sapphire,
when cut in half.

Sometimes we kiss the fruit,
other times we inhale its aroma
like it should be the beautiful
face of a lass or the perfumed
breast of a woman.
