when it rains

When it Rains.

The Umbrella is a wonderful invention, collapsible,
its basic structure is as yesteryear. I had one, so
heavy that I had to use both hands when walking in
the rain, it was black, umbrellas only came in one
colour back then; I gave mine to a girl called Mary,
wonder what happened to her?

A modern paraply is much lighter and comes in many
tones, I’ve got amber one now, made in China, it’s
not meant to last long, a rain squall or two and it’s time
to buy another one. I remember now, Mary Poppins her
name, she went to work for a rich family in London;
weird girl thought she could fly.
