Fado on my Mind
The night is hot and window is open
the street is empty, streetlamps have
only each other for company.
The radio sings Fado of lost love and
of times gone by; dulcet melancholy
this night is for remembering.
The night is breaking up, dawn, soon
a new day will begin and that’s fine
melancholy can be addictive.
