haiku

Haiku

Does spring offensive
Mean procreation and birdsong
Or war?

Morning zephyr
Flapping kitchen curtains
Aroma of coffee

Field ploughing tractors
Red soil and shrieking gulls
Horse empty landscape.

A grizzled donkey
Under a big carob tree
Makes it pretty.

So many flowers
Flamboyant aroma of death
Too late now for love

The good farmer
Has planted an almond tree
On my dog’s grave.

In a dead rabbit’s eyes
I saw the vast empty sky
Unmoved and godless
